Eggless orange cake


  1. All-purpose flour  – one and one-fourth cup
  2. Baking powder  –  one tsp
  3. Baking soda  –  half tsp
  4. Sweetened condensed milk  –  200 gms
  5. Orange juice  –  half cup
  6. Almond extract  –  one tsp
  7. Melted butter  –  half cup
  8. Milk  –  three tblsp (optional)

Icing Ingredients

  1. Whipped cream
  2. Orange zest  –  one tsp
  3. Orange juice  –  one-fourth cup
  4. Sugar  –  four tblsp
  5. Sprinkles
  6. Orange slices


Pre heat the oven to 320 F. Grease the baking bowl with butter and dust with little flour. Keep it aside.

In a bowl sift all purpose flour and keep it aside.

In another slightly bigger bowl, add melted butter, orange juice (half cup), almond extract and sweetened condensed milk. Mix well. To this mixture, add baking soda and baking powder. Mix well using spoon. Leave it for 5 mins. ( After 5 mins you should see bubbles) .

Now add all purpose flour to this bowl slowly and in little quantities. Fold it.

If batter is thick add milk and mix.


Now pour into a baking bowl.

Bake in an oven for 25 to 30 mins. A tip: Insert a toothpick into the cake and if it comes out clean then the cake is ready.


Cool the cake. In a small bowl add orange juice and sugar. Mix well until sugar is dissloved.

Once cake is cooled, slice the cake horizontally and trim the top if it is uneven. Place one slice of cake on a tray / cardboard.


Sprinkle orange juice, then spread whipping cream on the top.

Put another slice on top and sprinkle orange juice and spread whipping cream evenly.

Decorate the cake with whipped cream, orange slices and sprinkles……..
