Raw mango rasam


  1. Boiled and mashed masoor daal  –  one-fourth cup
  2. Raw mango cooked and mashed  –  one-fourth cup (peel the skin and boil)
  3. Chopped green chilli  –  two
  4. Red chilli  –  two
  5. Roasted jeera powder  –  half tsp
  6. Roasted cumin powder  –  half tsp
  7. Pepper powder  –  one-fourth tsp
  8. Salt  to taste
  9. Oil  –  one tblsp
  10. Jeera seeds  –  one-fourth tsp
  11. Mustard seeds  –  one-fourth tsp
  12. Urad daal  –  one-fourth tsp
  13. Turmeric powder  –  one-fourth tsp
  14. Curry leaves  –  few
  15. Coriander leaves  –  few
  16. Jaggery  –  one tblsp
  17. Asoeftida – pinch


Prepare tadka with oil, urad daal, mustard seeds, jeera seed, curry leaves, asoeftida, red chilli and greeen chilli. Now add mashed mango, masoor daal, jeera powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, coriander leaves, jaggery, salt and some water (approxmetly one and half cup).
