  1. Chana daal  –  one-third cup
  2. Urad daal  –  one-third cup
  3. Coriander seeds  –  half tsp
  4. Jeera seeds  –  half tsp
  5. Dry red chili  –  10 to 12
  6. Ghee  –  one-fourth tsp
  7. Salt  –  to taste


In a pan add ghee, red chili, coriander seeds and jeera seeds. Roast them. Remove and cool it. In the same pan add chana daal and urad daal. Roast them until they are light brown. Cool it. In  a mixer jar add roasted red chili, coriander seeds, jeera seeds and salt. Grind them. Then add roasted urad and chana daal. Grind them. Serve with idly, dosa….
