Whole green gram curry


  1. Boiled whole green gram  –  three-fourth cup
  2. Chopped onions  –  one-fourth cup
  3. Chopped tomatos  –  one-fourth cup
  4. Ginger garlic paste  –  one-fourth tsp
  5. Sliced green chilli  –  one
  6. Red chilli powder  –  half tsp
  7. Salt  –  to taste
  8. Garam masala  –  one-fourth tsp
  9. Jeera powder  –  one-fourth tsp
  10. Coriander powder  –  one-fourth tsp
  11. Dhaliya powder / putnala powder  –  one-fourth tsp
  12. Oil  –  three tsp
  13. Mustard seeds  –  one-fourth tsp
  14. Jeera seeds  –  one-fourth tsp
  15. Urad daal  –  one-fourth tsp
  16. Curry leaves  –  few
  17. Coriander leaves  –  few
  18. Turmeric powder  –  pinch
  19. Water  –  half cup
  20. Fresh cream  –  one tblsp


Prepare tadka with oil, jeera seeds, mustrad seeds, urad daal and curry leaves. Add onions and fry until onions are translucent. Then add tomatos, green chilli and gringer garlic paste. Cook until tomatos are soft. Add boiled whole green gram daal, red chilli powder, jeera powder, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, salt, dhaliya powder and coriander leaves. Mix well, add water and cover it and cook until it becomes a thick curry. In between keep mixing. Garnish with fresh cream. Now ready to serve….
