Okra fry


  1. Okra  –  two cups ( cut the edges and slit)
  2. Small onions  –  one cup (peel and chop into two parts)
  3. Dhaliya / putnala pappu powder  –  one sp
  4. Red chilli powder  –  half tsp
  5. Salt  –  to taste
  6. Grated dry coconut  –  one tsp
  7. Oil  –  one and half tblsp
  8. Urad daal  –  half tsp
  9. Jeera seeds  –  half tsp
  10. Mustard seeds  –  half tsp
  11. Curry leaves  –  few
  12. Lime juice  –  half tsp


In a small bowl add red chilli powder, coconut, salt and dhaliya powder. Mix well and keep it aside. In a pan prepare tadka with oil,mustard seeds, jeera seeds, urad daal. Now add onions and okra. Fry until okra is soft and edges are light brown. Now add the mixed powder. Mix well and turn off heat. Add lime juice and mix well. Ready to eat……..
