Mixed daal


  1. Toor daal  –  one-fourth cup
  2. Masoor daal  –  one-fourth cup
  3. Split green gram daal  –  one-fourth cup
  4. Chana daal  –  three tblsp
  5. Chopped tomatoes  –  one cup
  6. Ginger garlic paste  –  half tblsp
  7. Red chilli powder  –  three-fourth tsp
  8. Salt  –  to taste
  9. Lime juice  –  one tblsp
  10. Turmeric powder  –  one-fourth tsp
  11. Coriander leaves  –   few
  12. Chopped green chilli  –  one
  13. Oil  –  one tblsp
  14. Urad daal  –  half tsp
  15. Mustard seeds  –  half tsp
  16. Jeera seeds  –  half tsp
  17. Curry leaves  –  few
  18. Water  –  three cups


In a bowl add toor daal, masoor daal, split green gram daal, chana daal and water ( two cups). Pressure cook up to three whistle. Cool it and remove from cooker. In another pan prepare tadka with oil, urad daal, mustard seeds, curry leaves and jeera seeds. Add chopped green chilli, ginger garlic paste. Fry for a minute. Now add chopped tomatoes, red chilli powder, salt, and turmeric powder. Mix well. cover with lid. Cook until tomatoes are soft. Then add cooked daals and remaining water.Mix well. Boil it. Add lime juice and coriander leaves. Mix well. Ready to serve………
