Onion chutney


  1. Chopped onions  –  one cup
  2. Dhaliya powder  –  one tblsp
  3. Red chilli powder  –  three-fourth tsp
  4. Salt  –  to taste
  5. Dry coconut  –  one tblsp
  6. Tamarind  –  one inch
  7. Oil  –  one tsp
  8. Mustard seeds  –  one-fourth tsp
  9. Jeera seeds  –  one-fourth tsp
  10. Urad daal  –  one-fourth tsp
  11. Curry leaves  –  few


In  a mixer jar add chopped onions, red chilli powder, salt, dhaliya powder, tamarind, dry coconut. Make a paste by adding little water. Prepare tadka with oil, mustard seeds, urad daal, jeera seeds and curry leaves. Turn off heat and add onion chutney to the pan and mix well. After a minute remove from pan. Serve with dosa or idly………
