Coriander and gongura rice


  1. Cooked basmathi rice  –  one cup
  2. Coriander leaves  –  one-fourth cup
  3. Gongura leaves  –  five tblsp
  4. Sliced green chilli  –  one
  5. Ginger and garlic paste  –  half tsp
  6. Oil  –  one tsp
  7. Ghee  –  one tsp
  8. Sliced onions  –  one-fourth cup
  9. Green peas  –  one-fourth cup
  10. Grated carrot  –  one-fourth cup
  11. Urad daal  –  half tsp
  12. Jeera seeds  –  half tsp
  13. Mustard seeds  –  one-fourth tsp
  14. Salt  –  to taste


In a mixer jar add coriander leaves and gongura leaves. Make a fine paste by adding water. In  a pan prepare tadka with oil, ghee, urad daal, mustard seeds and jeera seeds. Add green chilli, ginger garlic paste, onions, green peas and grated carrot. Cover with lid and cook until onions are translucent. Now add coriander-gongura paste and salt, mix well and cover with lid. Let it cook until it becomes thick.

Now add cooked rice and mix well. Garinsh with lime and sliced onions…..
